Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 16, 2026 · Last updated: July 16, 2026

Scout (“Scout,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a sports card identification and collection tracking app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Scout, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who we are

Scout is operated by David Starr. For privacy questions, contact support@scoutcardtracker.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through our auth provider (Supabase). We do not store your password in plain text.

Collection and card data

To run the product, we store information you add about your cards, such as:

Photos and camera access

If you grant camera or photo library permission, Scout uses those images to identify cards and optionally save them to your collection. Images sent for AI identification are processed to return card details and are stored when you save a card to your collection.

Usage and device information

We may collect limited technical data needed to operate and secure the app:

Purchases and subscriptions

Scout Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) and managed through RevenueCat. We receive subscription status and entitlement information (for example, whether you have an active Pro entitlement). We do not receive your full payment card details — Apple handles payment.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

We do not sell your personal information.

4. AI and third-party services

Scout relies on trusted service providers to operate:

These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to Scout and are subject to their own privacy policies.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and collection data while your account is active. If you delete cards or your account, we remove associated collection records and stored images from our systems within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security, or accounting reasons (for example, subscription records).

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (including access, correction, deletion, and portability). We will respond to verified requests as required by law.

7. Children’s privacy

Scout is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, and authenticated APIs). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International users

If you use Scout from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of Scout after changes means you accept the updated policy.
